My favorite author the great Norman Maclean once said in his most recognized work, “My father was very sure about certain matters pertaining to the universe. To him all good things-trout as well as eternal salvation-come by grace and grace comes by art and art does not come easy.” (from A River Runs Through It – and Other Tales). My nature has been to look to great art – and in that I mean primarily works of words – as a refuge and as a sort of seasoning for other great foods for my soul such as moments in Creation. After stalling and waiting for far too long, I hope to capture here in my own words and art a bit of the grace that has so often surrounded me but has gone unsung.
I don’t pretend to be a great thinker, and those that know me best would tell you I enjoy a good and well-timed off-color turn of phrase. The truth is, I hope to stir the virtual campfire here a bit and in that perhaps give someone something to think about. More often than not, that person may be me.
I’m more than a few things… a father, conservationist, hiker, canoeist, motorcyclist. Some of these things will find their way here. Others may as well. If a consistent theme is your preferred flavor you may need to look elsewhere.
Be well… Be blessed…
